Re: Hull on Sunday down to the Redknapps (bare bones)
Pottsy once scored a hat-trick for the stiffs.

That 7-1 is one of my favourite games ever. The team that Macari built properly expressing itself (albeit under Bonds). One of the windiest games too. I remember turning to my mate five minutes in and saying either Ludo or Pottsy would score in this. Ludo almost did as I remember. And yes, Potts did have a thunderbolt saved a few minutes before his shot trickled through Hesford's legs.

Funny how such a short period in our history (that season and the one before) gave us a spread of really iconic games - 5-0 Sunderland, 5-0 Sheff Utd, 2-1 Everton, 2-1 Wimbledon, the Derby league cup replays, 4-0 Wolves, 5-0 Derby...

And as for Pottsy's thunderbolt, I know for a fact that I'm probably 1 of not many people who was there when he got his second goal for the club with a 20 yard left footer at St Johnstone away in a friendly ;o)

Got myself a nice picture of Dicksy that day as well.

Fucking loved that set of players.

Don't know if you remember Daniel Jones who lived near me and was in my year (also Langtons and Emerson Park), but he went home feeling ill with the score at 1-1 in that game.

Gutted??

I was sat on a bar in the south bank with my mate Smithy for the Hull game I think. That Forest game I can't remember if it was east or west stand upper, but Leroy's diving header was superb.

My Grandad bought me a badge outside the ground and I still have it

Have to disagree Ron

David Kelly was the master of scoring and falling over

to the extent that in the 3-3 with Forest he managed to reverse by falling over then scoring while laying on the floor

Payton was a decent goalscorer around those levels. That goal was when Ludo dived but let it bounce past him without putting his hands out wasn't it? The bloke instinctively headed a shit pass.

I remember Morley winning a penalty, by flopping about, and scored and flopped about from a corner. He was the master at winning penalties and scoring and falling over.

Julian scored a beauty that day.

We SHOULD bag a victory here, but safety so early on in the season will ravage attendances - something the owners would not really appreciate: keep the punters...sorry, fans...on their toes a few weeks longer.

Almost like it was in slow motion. Very bizarre I agree.

Can't remember the scorer. I know PAYTON got their winner the season before with a decent header.

Yeah it was just weird, and Ludo's dive was fucking bizarre. Almost like it was FIXED!

It looks like it was November 2013 in a 3-0 win against Fulham at home.

Some weak header the wind blew IN wasn't it? Was it Andy PAYTON that got it?

Re: Hull on Sunday down to the Redknapps (bare bones)
Hull to me are as bad as any team in the division and we should be smashing these cunts 99 times out of 100 even if their squad is fully fit.

Fatty has other ideas to 99% of the supporters though as to what players are best equipped to do this, which puts us beating them at risk.

Anything other than a win tomorrow and Sunday isn't good enough against 2 out of form average teams.

I still can't get over the goal we conceded that day. One of the most bizarre goals I've ever seen. I can't quite get my head around the whole move.

Haha!

Potts had a better shot before he scored from even further out that day.

Re: Hull on Sunday down to the Redknapps (bare bones)
If you could hand pick any game to have after a bit of a shit run, surely you'd go for this one?

I know the apologists are getting excuses ready about too much pressure from supporters etc, but there are no real excuses for not putting these aside easily enough.

When was the last time we beat anyone by more than two clear goals?

It could be. Maybe not the actual nail in the coffin but if he does lose to a struggling, depleted and currently low in confidence Hull side it could be the beginning of the end.

He is under pressure from many sections of supporters even during the season we are having which is the best for donkey's years. A bad result and performance against Hull won't go down well.

It's a shame as we should be going into this game full of confidence but I fear Sam will be going into it with one eye over his shoulder. Hope that doesn't filter onto the players.

Dan M 1:21 Mon Jan 12
Re: Hull on Sunday down to the Redknapps (bare bones)
Will they have Ian Hesford in goal?

If so, I'm going for 7-1. Danny Potts to score from 25 yards.

Next Monday on here it will be the following-

"Nolan is shit"

"Drop Nolan"

"Carroll is not as good as Bony"

"Get rid of BFS before he ruins my club"

"Yes I know we won 5-0 but we were lucky and BFS is a fucking idiot for taking Valencia off rather than Nolan"
